The start of the story
Owls don’t sleep at night, they watch the world with their big eyes. Hootie the owl had an important job today. She settled on the highest branch of the old oak and adjusted her round glasses. Under her wing she held a thick book about the sky. “It says here that the stars are countless,” she muttered. “Countless means too many to count.” “Pfft! Everything can be counted.”
