The start of the story
That morning, the Great Storytelling Day was going to take place in the clearing. Every little animal could tell something interesting. Hoppy the bunny had been sitting by his daisy since dawn. She grew in a small pot, white, with pink-edged petals. She looked as if she had turned a little rosy. To turn rosy means to go pink, for example from happiness. Outside the window, birds were singing merrily.
