The start of the story
Hoppy the bunny and Croaky the frog were the best friends under the sun. Every day they met by the pond, at the flat, warm stone. They played “who can jump farthest,” counted ducks and told each other their strangest dreams. Until one June morning, Croaky arrived with a little suitcase woven from grass. “I’m going to visit Grandma at the Great Lake,” she said. “For the whole summer!” Hoppy’s paws went cold.
